诗歌背景:

        该歌是由基督教圣诗谱曲而成，该歌曾被香港政府公益广告所使用。
        作者Cecil F. Alexander女士1823年生于爱尔兰之 Tyrone，她是一位儿童圣诗作家。藉着诗歌引发儿童学习圣经要道之兴趣。1848年将历年所写的圣诗集成一册儿童圣歌集，付梓问世，不久即风行全国。

        这首《美丽光明物》是作者为解释使徒信经首段“我信神，全能的父，创造天地的主”而作的一首诗。以轻快的笔法，描写造化奇功的伟大，促使儿童颂赞的心思。此诗曲谱为 William H. Monk（1823-1889 ）所作。
